Here for a good time, not a long time

Written by Willunga Hill at 02:29 17/5-2021

It is with great pleasure, great privilege, and a little trepidation that management announces the signing of Finn McCracken, NZ's best ever TT rider and only ever world champion (twice in the TT event) on a short-term contract.

Finn joins the Hill to race out the remainder of his career, intending to return back to his original paymasters and only true home, Australian Warlord, for a role in upper management when he retires.

When interviewd today, McCracken said "Really, I'm only here for one thing, and that is to win a 3rd WC TT title, and this time under a NZ flag. If this can help Willunga Hill in any way, either financially or by climbing the rankings, then I'll be doubly pleased. Rustgold's management techniques are certainly not for the faint of heart, but what he has helped me achieve so far in my career cannot be understated. If it wasn't for him helping me reach my potential, I wouldn't be seated here today wearing this jersey," Rumor has it that McCracken even showers in it.

The fee of $260k is nearly triple the amount Willunga Hill has ever previously stumped up for a rider but under the terms of agreement, management expects to make only a small loss overall on the deal. Team owner, Coulter, stated "With Australian Warlord looking for other challenges in the short-term future, Finn needed a temporary home as he looked to chase another WC title. It is a huge responsibility for us, but one we are glad to take on. We are aware of the comments coming from some corners of the media suggesting that Finn's extreme desire to return to Rustgold and Auatralian Warlord implies he is suffering from a version of Stockholm Syndrome, but after carrying out our own pysho-analysis, at the Willunga Hill Pub last night, it seems far more likely that all those scratches and bruises you see on him arise from his natural clumsiness and inability to handle a beverage."
